A 'Tudor Evensong' with St Nicolas Consort

The St Nicolas Consort sings Choral Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer featuring a feast of Tudor music by William Byrd, Robert White and others.

Introit: 'Christe qui lux es et dies' (White)

Preces and Responses: Byrd

Canticles: 'Magnificat' and 'Nunc Dimittis' from the Short Service (Byrd)

Anthem: 'Vigilate' (Byrd)

The St Nicolas Consort will sing everything unaccompanied, including the Introit (which replaces the first hymn), the Preces and Responses, the Psalm, the Canticles and the Anthem (which replaces the second hymn).

The congregation will be able to join in with the final hymn and the organist will play voluntaries and a postlude before and after the service.

Everyone is welcome to stay for tea and cake afterwards.
