The Maple Tree runs ‘Play and Learn’ sessions in Forest Hill Village Hall on Thursdays from 10.30am to 12pm.
Maple Tree Centre Manager, Laura Spencer, runs the sessions with the help of regular volunteers from Forest Hill and Stanton St John. It is a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children to meet each other and socialise. Sessions run throughout the year, including half-term and school holidays. Booking is not required but do email laura@mapletree.org.uk if you have any questions.

Daffodil Day 2026 at Shotover House, Sunday 22 March, 2pm - 4.30pm
St Nicolas Church in Forest Hill, with the support of the Shotover Trust, is delighted to be organising another ‘Daffodil Day’ on Sunday 22 March. Proceeds are shared equally between the church and The Maple Tree Children’s Centre in Wheatley.
The event offers a rare opportunity to wander around the Shotover gardens and enjoy the extensive displays of daffodils and other spring bulbs. Tea, coffee and home made cake (including gluten free and vegan options) will be on sale throughout the afternoon and there will be an accessible refreshment tent at the front of the house. Toilets (including a disabled toilet) will be provided.
As in previous years, free off-site car parking will be available at local schools and the routes for walking or cycling will be clearly signposted. Advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly if you are hoping to park on site. Priority will be given to ‘Blue Badge’ holders and drivers with limited mobility.

Monthly Service of Holy Communion for the combined congregations of the Four Parishes of Beckley, Forest Hill, Horton-cum-Studley and Stanton St John. This service alternates between the four churches and normally takes place on the fourth Sunday of the month.
